Founded by Mara Coelho in September 2009, Tree House Academy Child Care was born from a deep passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a love of learning from the very start. With over a decade of hands-on classroom and administrative experience, Mara envisioned a place where children could feel safe, inspired, and valued — a home away from home where curiosity and growth are celebrated every day.
Located in the vibrant Somerville/Cambridge area, Tree House Academy proudly serves families from across the Greater Boston region. Our doors are open to children from 8 weeks to 5 years old, providing a seamless early education experience that supports every stage of development. Conveniently situated within walking distance of Harvard University, Porter Square, and MIT, our center is a welcoming hub for families seeking high-quality, independent childcare.
Mara, a native of Brazil, brings a rich multicultural perspective to the Academy. Fluent in Portuguese and deeply knowledgeable in Spanish, she has created a community where diverse cultures, languages, and experiences are embraced. Our team of educators reflects this cosmopolitan spirit, blending expertise, compassion, and creativity to provide every child with an environment that encourages exploration and joy.
At Tree House Academy, our mission is simple yet profound: to create a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. We celebrate each child’s individuality, encouraging curiosity, resilience, and kindness. By partnering closely with parents and fostering a collaborative, caring community, we strive to ensure that every child leaves our doors confident, happy, and ready for the adventures ahead.
Tree House Academy is more than just a childcare center — it’s a place where learning meets love, and every child is empowered to reach their fullest potential.
